PhD Comprehensive Examination
The purpose of the Comprehensive Examination in the Medical Sciences Graduate Program is to establish that a doctoral student has acquired the appropriate intellectual skills and abilities to continue their career trajectory as an independent scientist. The first attempt of the Comprehensive Examination must occur within twenty-one months of a student’s registration in the Ph.D. program (see timing of examination details below).
